Visiting China's Great Wall, I could only imagine the human sacrifice that was made to build this wall. Eagles Lake - Conceptual Fine Art by Russ Harris

Eagles LakeFine Art Photographer, San Diego Photographer, landscape,la jolla, published, commercial, fine art photographer in la jolla,

Eagles are large, powerfully built birds of prey, with heavy heads and beaks. Due to the size and power of many eagle species, they are ranked at the top of the food chain as apex predators in the avian world. This is a digital concept painting of a close up of their face and one as they approach a landing. A wonderful animal to observe in the wild... I entitle this piece Eagles Lake after no specific place or location.

Sacred Heart Basilica - France

Basilique du Sacré-CœurIt's hard to not feel as though you're ascending to heaven when you visit Sacred Heart Basilica, the white castle in the sky, perched atop Montmartre. The French government commissioned it in 1873 to symbolize the return of self-confidence after the devastating years of the Commune and Franco-Prussian War, and architect Paul Abadie employed elements from Romanesque and Byzantine styles when designing it—a mélange many critics dismissed as gaudy. Construction lasted until World War I, and the church was finally consecrated in 1919.
